A recently wedded couple are trusting "to demonstrate to the entire world that you can be gay and Muslim" after their wedding in the West Midlands.
Jahed Choudhury and Sean Rogan hitched in Walsall, in what could be the UK's first same-sex marriage including a Muslim partner.
The couple wore customary Bangladeshi clothing to state their pledges while encompassed by friends and family at the town's registry office.
Mr Choudhury, 24, said he felt like the "odd one out" of his Bangladeshi Muslim family, being harassed at school, assaulted by different Muslims and prohibited from his nearby mosque.
He said he endeavoured to change his sexual orientation and went on religious journeys to Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh however wound up plainly self-destructive and endeavoured to murder himself before meeting Mr Rogan.
They began living respectively in 2015 and Mr Choudhury proposed on his significant other's birthday a year ago.
Mr Choudhury stated: "This is tied in with indicating individuals I couldn't care less, my family wouldn't like to go ahead the day, they simply would prefer not to see it, it's excessively humiliating for them.
"They believe it's an illness and can be cured, some of my family still call it a stage.
"I need to state to all individuals experiencing a similar thing that is it's alright – will demonstrate the entire world that you can be gay and Muslim."
Mr Rogan, 19, told the Express and Star he would remain by his better half "at all times".
"Being gay's not wrong, it's not 'a stage'," he included.
"Individuals simply require a touch of help."
